THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE COMMISSIONS KATAMPE DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS AND GROUNDBREAKING OF 6-MAN RANK AND FILE QUARTERS

…Stresses on improved infrastructure and adequate welfare as essential facilities to boosting the morale and professionalism of Police personnel.

Inspector-General of Police IGP Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu represented by the Assistant Inspector-General of police Zone 7 Headquarters AIG Victor Olaiya psc(+)  today Commissioned the Newly constructed Divisional Headquarters in Katampe, Abuja.  This development is part of ongoing efforts to improve police infrastructure and support the welfare of officers and men of the Force.

In a related development, the event also featured the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 6-man Rank and File Quarters, an initiative of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund. This housing project, aimed at addressing the accommodation challenges faced by junior officers, reflects the commitment of the NPTF to uplift the welfare and living standards of personnel within the Force.

Speaking during the event, Mohammed Sheidu, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund reiterated the Fund’s commitment to improving the welfare of Police Officers and enhancing their operational readiness. He also emphasized that the dual projects mark a continuation of the transformation agenda of the Nigeria Police Force under its current leadership.

The Inspector-General of Police lauded the efforts of the NPTF, noting that improved infrastructure and adequate welfare remains essential to boosting the morale and professionalism of police personnel. He also called for sustained partnerships and public support in the drive toward a more effective and people-friendly police force.

The commissioning and handing over ceremony of the Smart Divisional Police Headquarters Katampe and The Groundbreaking of 6-Man, Rank and File Quarters ceremonies were attended by senior government officials, traditional rulers, members of the press, and residents of the Katampe district, all of whom expressed optimism about the positive impact of these developments on security and community relations.

The event concluded on a high note, with a renewed sense of commitment to police reform, infrastructure development, and improved welfare for officers. Attendees departed with a shared vision of a safer, more secure Nigeria anchored on a well-supported and professional police force.
