Army Raids Militants' Camp in Abia, Recovers Weapons
Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation UDOKA have dismantled a camp allegedly belonging to the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in a coordinated evening raid in Ugwunagbo Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to a special situation report (SITREP) from the 144 Battalion (Rear), the operation was launched following actionable intelligence on the presence of camp in the Ebubengwa/Abayi Nchokoro community.
The signal confirmed that the raid involved six platoons of 49 soldiers each, led by the unit commander and backed by one Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), a gun truck, and six Hilux vehicles.
The operation led to the total destruction of the camp. Troops recovered a significant cache of arms and other logistics including:
1 × Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG)
1 × General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG)
4 × AK-47 rifles
1 × G3 rifle
3 × Pump action guns
800 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition
648 rounds of 7.62mm NATO rounds
Other items retrieved include two generators, laptops, CCTV cameras, mobile phones, a Wi-Fi router, external hard drives, food supplies, ritual vests, and a total of ₦11.75 million and $27,000 in cash.
Troops also discovered and destroyed a large shrine used for spiritual fortification and several vehicles and motorcycles:

The militants reportedly fled under heavy gunfire, leaving behind blood trails. Although the number of militant casualties remains unconfirmed, the Nigerian Army reported the loss of one soldier and injuries to two others — one officer and one soldier.
The deceased was taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia, while the injured are receiving treatment in Aba.
The Army disclosed that 630 rounds of 7.62mm special and 235 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition were used during the firefight. The entire camp, including the shrine and vehicles, was destroyed and set ablaze. The area remains under military control with on going patrols. END
