Hon. Justice Nze within one year of his administration in the Local Government.

Facts About Visible Transformation Under Rt. Hon. Justice Nze in Ikeduru

- Tangible developmental strides recorded across Ikeduru within one year of Rt. Hon. Justice Nze’s administration.

For clarity and benefit of the general public, we wish to present verifiable facts on ground. 

1. Visible Infrastructure Development — Facts, Not Fiction

Contrary to the claim that “there is no single project in Ikeduru,” the following projects have been executed, completed, or are ongoing within the last twelve months:

Construction of modern conveniences for council workers – completed and commissioned.

Renovation of the Council Hallowed Chambers for legislative activities – completed and commissioned.

Renovation of councillors’ offices – completed and commissioned.

Massive road grading across all the 29 autonomous communities in Ikeduru last year 2024 – executed to enhance rural access.

Construction of toilet facilities at Ngugo Timbers and Allied Market – Completed and functioning.

Sinking of borehole at Ngugo Timbers and Allied Market – completed and serving traders.

Repair and rehabilitation of a faulty 200KVA transformer at Owalla Avuvu.

General renovation works at the LGA Headquarters, Iho – ongoing.

Reconnection of water supply to the council headquarters – completed.

Construction of staff canteen – 98% completed 

Reconstruction and furnishing of the offices of the Chairperson, Secretary to the LGA, and Executive Vice Chairman – completed.

Construction of modern abattoir at Eke-Atta Market – ongoing.

Construction of modern toilet facility at Eke-Atta Market – completed.

Purchase and distribution of high-quality 50 solar panel lights to 5 out of the 12 wards in Ikeduru under the Light Up Ikeduru Project viz: Amaimo, Inyishi/ Umudim, Avuvu, Okwu/Eziama/Ugirike, Uzoagba. The solar panel lights of the other wards are coming soon.

Sinking of community Borehole at Ikembara in Ngugo/ Ikembara ward with tank stand and tanks.

Maintenance of the security architecture of Ikeduru for the peace and security of lives and properties of Ikeduru people. 

Repair and renovation of the Council hall.

Rehabilitation of the Borehole of the corpers lodge.

Offsetting the electricity bills of the two corpers lodges and re-energising of the two corpers lodges with power supply.

Drawing the attention of the Governor to the devastated roads and gully erosion sites at Umushievelle Owalla Avuvu and Amakohia/ Owu-Amakohia road/gully erosion sites. Today, they are in the budget ready for execution. 

Installation of free Wi-Fi service at the Ikeduru LGA Secretariat – completed, providing internet access to both workers and visitors to enhance digital productivity.

These are visible, measurable developments that can be verified by any sincere observer.

2. Economic Empowerment and Agricultural Growth

Ikeduru’s economic and agricultural base has been strengthened through strategic initiatives, including:

Establishment of a palm plantation project to create jobs, support local farmers, and boost internal revenue.

Fishery empowerment program that benefited over 200 Ikeduru indigenes — providing alternative livelihoods and supporting youth and women in agrobusiness.

Giving monthly soft grants to 86 Ikeduru people 

Supporting women's empowerment through the Office of the Chairperson. 

Under the Executive Chairman’s Public Private Partnership PPP with Ikeduru people abroad, all over the world, he has attracted the construction of Amanwozuzu park. The park is currently under construction. Go and verify. The Memoranda of Understanding of Eke-Atta Park and Amaimo Park are nearing conclusion. They shall follow suit.

These initiatives are not “stories” — they are practical efforts to secure economic self-reliance and sustainability for Ikeduru people.

3. Social Development and Youth Empowerment

The Chairman’s administration has consistently prioritized youth and social development.

Key interventions include:

Hosting of a Drug Abuse Awareness Seminar themed “Save Ikeduru Youths from the Dangers of Narcotics and Drug Abuse” — a life-saving initiative for the community.

Sponsorship of Ikeduru youth teams in state-level competitions:

1st place in the State Federation Cup.

3rd place in the Governor’s Cup.

These sporting achievements are testaments to a leadership that invests in talent, discipline, and community pride.

4. Stakeholder Engagement and Participatory Governance

Rt. Hon. Justice Nze’s leadership model is inclusive and transparent.

He holds regular stakeholders’ meetings with traditional rulers, youth leaders, women groups, and opinion leaders — ensuring that every policy and project reflects the will and needs of the people.

5. National Recognition — Ikeduru Leads by Example

At the Nigeria Project 774 LGA Connectivity Conference held in Abuja (November 2024), Ikeduru LGA was declared 1st Position Nationwide in project delivery and governance, earning the Federal Minister’s Award for Outstanding Performance.

6. Transparency and Accountability

All ongoing and completed projects have been executed with transparency and fiscal discipline. The council under Rt. Hon. Justice Nze operates an open-door policy, with project monitoring and community participation as cornerstones of implementation.
