FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS ANAMBRA STATE SECTOR COMMAND
Ahead Of Anambra Gubernatorial Election, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Deploys Personnel, Addresses Staff on Election Modalities
In preparation for the Anambra State gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8, 2025, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Muhammad, mni, fca, fcti, cpfa, has deployed 1,500 FRSC personnel and logistics vehicles to ensure a smooth election process. The Corps Marshal was represented by Assistant Corps Marshal ST Agure, PSC, JP, ACM, of Federal Operations, National Headquarters, Abuja.
Receiving the Corps Marshal, who was represented by Assistant Corps Marshal ST Agure, to the State, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, welcomed the No 1. Road Safety Boss to Anambra State and immediately briefed him on the activities that have taken place in the past week leading up to the election, which included training sessions conducted by INEC officials, security meetings, the signing of a peace accord by contestants, including the certification of vehicles designated for transporting electoral materials by FRSC personnel.
Additionally, the Sector Commander informed Corp Marshal of further deployment of personnel and logistics vehicles from nearby States, including Edo, Delta, Imo, and Enugu. She noted that FRSC will collaborate with other security agencies to block all entrances into Anambra beginning from 1200 midnight on Friday November 7, 2025, in furtherance to restriction of movement. She further explained that a strategy has been developed to ensure free flow of electoral materials from one point to another, in addition to assigning a staff from the Sector to join other sister security agencies to the situation room to report any emergency.
In his address, the representative of the Corps Marshal Assistant Corps Marshal ST Agure conveyed greetings from the FRSC BOSS. He advised personnel to dress appropriately for easy identification, remain civil with the public, and avoid being overly zealous on the election day. He emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and refrain from any conduct that could undermine the image of the Corps. He also reminded the personnel that all certified vehicles must be roadworthy.
While distributing booklets titled "Code of Conduct & Rules of Engagement for Security Personnel on Electoral Duty" the Corp Marshal representative urged members of staff to work in coordination with other agencies in the State so as to aid personnel on proper conduct during the election.
Concluding, the Anambra Sector Command of the FRSC used the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful election process.
"We urge all road users to cooperate with our personnel and other security agencies to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and the transportation of electoral materials. Additionally, we appeal to the public to report any emergency or suspicious activities to our command center or the nearest FRSC Unit.
