AIG ZONE 7 VISITS NIGER STATE FOR SITUATION ASSESSMENT OVER STUDENTS ABDUCTION, SYMPATHISES WITH STATE GOVERNMENT 

The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 7 Headquarters Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+) paid a visit to the Niger State Governor, His Excellency Farmer (Dr.) Mohammed Umar Bago at the State Government House, Minna today 22nd November, 2025.

The AIG stated that the visit is to sympathize with the government and people of Niger State on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D, NPM on the unfortunate incident which occurred in the early hours of 21st November 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Private Primary and Secondary School Papiri, Agwara LGA of Niger state, where some staff and students of the school were abducted by armed men. 

AIG Victor sympathized with the Farmer Governor whilst assuring him of  IGP's swift efforts towards ensuring the rescue of  abducted victims unhurt. He added that adequate security measures are already in place, with deployment of more tactical teams to aid the Police Command in the State on the rescue operations.

He urged members of the public, Nigerlites to support the security agencies and offer necessary assistance during the rescue operations towards ensuring a successful and seamless rescue exercise.

The State Governor in his response commended the approach and swift response of Inspector General of Police whilst appreciating his gesture to the good people of the state. He assured the AIG of the State government's willingness to provide and render the necessary support and assistance to aid the rescue of the victims as the protection of life and property of the citizenry remains the primary responsibility of government. He thanked the AIG for coming and hoped for positive feedback in the coming days.
