Works, Finance Ministers Inspect Ongoing Work On Third Mainland Bridge

The Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. David Umahi, and his Counterpart, Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Chief Wale Edun have undertaken the inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Third Mainland bridge in Lagos.

In a press release signed by Director, Information Olusola Abiola, Ministry of Works said while Inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation work on Tuesday, the Ministers took time to examine different aspects of the rehabilitation, commending the contractor, Messrs CCECC for their good efforts so far.


Sen. Umahi particularly gave more attention to the relaying of asphalt pavements of the bridge which commenced from the Owornshoki end of the 11.8kn bridge, carefully observing the quality of work done by the contractor and encouraging them to continue with same standard.

On the installation of solar based street lights and CCTV cameras, Engr Umahi described the solar facilities as very useful and will be very strategic for road users. He however told the contractor to ensure that right quality materials are utilised to ensure value for tax payers money.

Among the inspection team of the two ministers were other senior government officials and the Contractor handling the project.

It would be recalled that the Ministers of Works and Finance had earlier in January 2024 visited the ongoing construction work along the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road projects to assess the status of the project. END
