Armed Forces Day: Gov Nwifuru Lays Wreaths In Honour Of Fallen Heroes

Activities marking the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day came to a climax with laying of wreath at the cenotaphs of unknown soldiers.


Wreath, honouring Nigeria's fallen heroes was laid by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Moses Odunwa, Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Justice Elvis Ngene, Cantonment Commander, Lt Col Samuel Atomode, Commissioner of Police, Augustina Ogbodo.


Others include, Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Retired Captain Fidelis Ogodo,  Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Charles Mkpuma and representative of the widows of the fallen heroes.

Shortly arrival, Governor Nwifuru inspected a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Nigerian Military.


Other side attractions include twenty one fun salute, and release of pigeons to signify peace.
