Ebonyi First Lady to Women: Pursue Dreams With Firm determination

The wife of Ebonyi Governor, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru has called on Nigerian women to continue pursuing their dream, aspiration and ambitions with firm and unwavering determination. 

She gave the charge during the opening ceremony of a 4-day study tour on leadership etiquette and sustainable development for women holding at Hilton Bomonti, Istanbul Turkey.

This was contained in a press release issued by Press Secretary to wife of the Ebonyi Governor, Nnenne Oshibe.

The 4-day study tour with the theme 'leadership etiquette for nation building' was organized by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in collaboration with Prime Unique Women Initiative (PUWI) for spouses of top government and female government officials.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru commended the contributions and support of the leadership of Nigeria in making the society a better place for all.

“I bring you warm greetings and felicitations from Nigeria and particularly from the good people of Ebonyi State, on this remarkable occasion of the opening ceremony here in Istanbul, Turkey. I am greatly delighted to be here and even more humbled by this rare opportunity to interact with you”.

“I always love to acknowledge the strength, resilience and determination of we women; these inspirational values in us contribute largely in shaping our families, communities and the societies we live in”.

Mrs. Nwifuru acknowledged the outstanding performances or women in various leadership assignments given which is instrumental in driving progress and development. She advised women to continue to demonstrate remarkable courage and strength in the face of challenges and obstacles.

“In the face of challenges and obstacles, I implore us to continue to demonstrate remarkable courage and strength. Our voices have been instrumental in advocating for gender equality, women rights and social justice”.

The event which is currently ongoing in Istanbul, Turkey, started on the 20th of November, 2023 and expected to end on the 23rd November. Other delegates from Ebonyi State include; the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Mrs.Grace Umezurike, Barr Mrs. Felicia Nwankpuma, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Mrs. Jessica Chinedu Uburu, Chairperson Ebonyi LGA.
