AIG VICTOR OLAIYA, PSC(+), EXTENDS GOODWILL AND ASSURES ROBUST SECURITY ACROSS FCT AND NIGER STATE AMID YULETIDE CELEBRATIONS

In furtherance of proactive, preventive and intelligence-driven security strategies ahead of the Yuletide celebrations, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+), has ordered the full-scale operational deployment of officers and men, alongside intensified confidence-building patrols, across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State.

The AIG has warmly extended goodwill to residents while unequivocally reassuring citizens, commuters and visitors of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property before, during and after the festive period. He emphasized that the Police have deployed adequate human and operational resources, strengthened intelligence-led policing, and enhanced inter-agency collaboration to ensure a peaceful, safe and crime-free Yuletide season across the Zone.

AIG Olaiya disclosed that visibility policing, intensive vehicular and foot patrols, strategic stop-and-search operations, and rapid response mechanisms have been fully activated across major highways, border communities, residential areas, markets, recreational centres and places of worship. He further assured the public that all officers and men deployed for festive duties have been clearly directed to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, civility and respect for human rights, while remaining firm and decisive in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The AIG also called on members of the public to remain calm, law-abiding and security-conscious, urging them to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police formation or through established emergency channels. According to him, security is a shared responsibility, and sustained cooperation between the Police and the public remains critical to maintaining peace, order and public confidence.

The Zone 7 Police Headquarters reiterates its firm readiness and determination to dominate the security space, prevent criminal activities and ensure that residents of the FCT and Niger State enjoy a safe, peaceful and hitch-free Yuletide celebration and beyond.
