Arrangement has been concluded for the Funeral Rites of Late Chief Agunwa Anaekwe, former Speaker, House of Representatives in the 3rd National Assembly.

He will be buried in his Country Home, Adazi-ani on the 17th of October 2025.

A statement jointly signed by the chairman, National Burial Committee, Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso and co-chairman Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu respectively, state as follows.

Thursday, 16th October, 2025, 

-9am, Valedictory Session @the National Assembly, Abuja

-2pm, Valedictory Session @ Anambra State House of Assembly, Awka

-4pm, Valedictory Session @Igwe's Palace, Adazi-ani

-5pm, Vigil Mass & Wake-Keep @ his Country  Home

Friday, 17th October, 2025,

-9am, Lying-in-state @ his Country Home

-11am, Funeral Mass @St. Peters Catholic Church, Adazi-ani

-followed by Internment @his Country Home, Adazi-ani
