Abuja the Nigeria's Capital is set to witness one of the mother of all events hosted in recent times, an Exhibition which according to the organisers can only be compared to FESTAC '77.

The AFROCENTRIC CULTURAL EXPO 2026 which is scheduled to hold between November 7 to 18, in Abuja, is expected to be a 10day multi-cultural, multifaceted, multinational, and multi-economic extravaganza.

Briefing Newsmen in Abuja, the event organisers headed by the Founder, CEO of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce-USA, NICOCUSA, Mr Gregory Ihenacho said, the Afrocentric Cultural Expo is one of his own humble contributions to the growth and rediscovery of the black nation, explaining that he decided to host the first edition of the gigantic event in Abuja because of his root as a Nigerian, and, "charity they say, begins at home", in addition to the country's significant position as the largest black nation and global influence.

According to Mr Iheanacho, the exhibition, which expected to showcase rich cultural values and traditions of Africans and those in the diaspora, including Brazilians, Caribbeans, Americans, South Americans, Europeans, and Asians, shall be a first of its kind event in Africa.

Mr Ihenacho noted that the 10-day event would be a festival of Afrocentric music, fashion, heritage awards, a pageant, intellectual debate, food expo, culture, football tournament, a film festival and a global business and investment forum.

He explained that registration has already commenced for the Afrocentric Cultural Expo which he boasted shall attract a direct economic impact of about $250 million, adding that over 1,000 exhibition booths have been sold already to food vendors and medium and large-scale companies.

Mr Greg Iheanacho lamented that, "time has come for Africa to tell its own story, build its own economy, and reap the full economic rewards of its greatness, because the continent has given the world its best of resources, talent, culture, creativity, innovation, and trade but has little or nothing to show for the immeasurable sacrifice".

Nigerian Chamber of Commerce-USA NICOCUSA, was founded in May 2002, with the mandate to bridge business communities in the United States and Nigeria as well as advocate for favourable trade policies and protect the Nigerian brand.

It is expected that the Afrocentric Cultural Expo event shall be bicycled across the African Continent and even beyound after its debut in Nigeria come November 2026.
