A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Court Seven, Abuja, has issued a warrant for the arrest of one Ibrahim Garba an Abuja based Car Dealer following his alleged unscrupulous and unwholesome practices and failure to appear before the court to answer charges brought against him.
The arrest warrant was issued on Friday by the presiding Judge was infuriated after the defendant's failure to honour the court’s summons and without representation by any legal team.
The court which noted the unsatisfactory conduct of the defendant, declared that no satisfactory explanation was provided for his absence.
The preciding Judge subsequently directed law enforcement agencies to arrest absconded Garba, ordered the police to make sure that Garba is produced before the court at the next adjourned date.
The judge emphasized that obedience to court summons is a fundamental obligation of every citizen and failure to obey court's summon for appearance without lawful justification amounts to an outright disregard and breech of the law and judicial process.
Details of the charges against the defendant were not disclosed during the session.
