The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Benue State Chapter, warmly welcomes the  Wife of the President, National Chairman, Renewed Hope Initiative ,RHI, and National Patron of NAWOJ Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Benue State.

NAWOJ notes that beyond the inauguration of ten road projects in Makurdi, the visit presents a valuable opportunity for women in Benue to benefit from programmes and interventions aimed at improving their socio-economic wellbeing.

The Association commends Senator Tinubu's commitment to initiatives that promote women's empowerment, strengthen families, and support vulnerable groups across the country observing that the planned engagement with women and beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Initiative would help inspire hope, create awareness about  opportunities, and encourage greater participation of women in development programmes.

While maintaining that empowering women remains one of the most effective ways of achieving sustainable development and improving the living standards of families and communities,the Association  applauds the inauguration of a Community ICT Centre in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, noting that access to digital technology and skills development is critical to the economic advancement of women and girls in today's world.

A statement by the Chairperson Comrade Elizabeth Achagh acknowledges the collaborative efforts of the Federal Government through the Renewed Hope Initiative and the Benue State Government in delivering projects and programmes that have direct impact on the lives of citizens, noting that such partnerships are essential for promoting inclusive growth and reducing gender disparities.

The statement therefore urges women across Benue State to take advantage of the opportunities provided through the initiative and other empowerment programmes to improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to national development.

NAWOJ Benue Chapter remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote the rights, welfare, and advancement of women and girls and looks forward to the positive outcomes of the First Lady's visit to the state. END
