AS PART OF NEW YEAR ACTIVITIES, AIG VICTOR HOLDS GENERAL LECTURE PARADE WITH OFFICERS, MEN AND WOMEN OF ZONE 7

…integrity is best measured by doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

In a renewed drive to strengthen professionalism, discipline, and quality service delivery, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Headquarters, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+), on 6th January, 2025, held a New Year General Lecture Parade with officers, men and women of the Zone at the Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja.

The lecture parade, which marked the formal commencement of official activities for the year, served as a moment of reflection on the achievements of the past year and a clear roadmap for expectations in the new policing year. Addressing the personnel, AIG Victor emphasized the need for renewed commitment to duty, ethical conduct, and unwavering respect for the rule of law in the discharge of policing responsibilities.

In a deeply human-centered charge, the AIG reminded officers and men that policing goes beyond uniforms and authority, stressing that integrity is best measured by doing the right thing even when no one is watching. He urged personnel to let conscience, discipline, and professionalism guide their actions at all times, both in public and in private.

He further charged personnel to remain professional, disciplined, and people-oriented, noting that public trust remains the cornerstone of effective policing and can only be sustained through transparency, fairness, and respect for human dignity. Officers were encouraged to embrace teamwork, operational readiness, continuous self-improvement, and a positive attitude to work while upholding the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

AIG Victor also highlighted the importance of discipline, punctuality, intelligence-led policing, and strict adherence to operational guidelines, warning that the Zone will not condone misconduct or any actions capable of undermining public confidence. He reaffirmed the leadership’s resolve, under the guidance of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun PhD, NPM to reward excellence, diligence, and integrity while ensuring appropriate sanctions for acts of indiscipline and misbehavior.

The General Lecture Parade concluded on a note of renewed purpose and high morale, as officers and men of Zone 7 collectively reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding lives and property and delivering improved, people-focused policing services throughout the year.

The Zone 7 Headquarters remains steadfast in its mission to promote professionalism, accountability, and effective service delivery in line with the vision and reform agenda of the Nigeria Police Force.
