The 2026 International Customs Day Celebration, the Launch of TRS, Time Release Study and Presentation of Awards, a Customs three-in-one event, has reportedly taken place in Abuja, the nation's capital, with AIG Victor Olaiya, incharge of Zone 7, representing the Inspector-General of Police at the auspicious occasion.

AIG VICTOR OLAIYA REPRESENTS IGP AT THE 2026 INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS DAY, LAUNCH OF TIME RELEASE STUDY AND AWARDS

In response to an invitation by the Nigeria Customs Service, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, was represented by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Victor Olaiya at the 2026 International Customs Day celebration, the launch of the Time Release Study (TRS) and the presentation of awards.

The event which was held at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel,  brought together key stakeholders from Government Ministries, Security Agencies, the Private sector and International partners, focused on promoting trade facilitation, operational efficiency and strengthened inter-agency collaboration within Nigeria’s trade and border management framework.

In line with the theme of the celebration, goodwill messages emphasized the critical role of cooperation among security and regulatory agencies in enhancing national security, improving service delivery and fostering economic growth. The launch of the Time Release Study reflects the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to improving cargo clearance processes, transparency and alignment with global best practices.

The presence of the Nigeria Police Force at the event underscores its continued support for inter-agency synergy and its dedication to maintaining a secure environment that enables lawful trade and national development.

The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to supporting security initiatives that promote efficient border management, public safety and sustainable economic growth.
