The NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Abdullahi Yahya on Saturday 27th of September 2025, was seen lying on a critical medical facility of the National Blood Bank Services Agency in Abuja.

The NUJ National President is however reportedly not in any crucial health condition whatsoever, but strategically leading and championing a critical National Crusade  for life saving services for humanity, by willingly offering himself for voluntary Blood Donation.

The occasion was the September Congress of the FCT Correspondent Chapel's meet, where the National Blood Service Agency, NBSA, collaborated with the Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ FCT Council to sensitise Journalists and members of the public respectively on the Services of the Agency and more importantly, the need for members of the public and individuals to embrace voluntary donations of Blood and discard associated myths.

Theme of the workshop was THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA IN SAFE AND ADEQUATE BLOOD FOR NIGERIANS

The event had in attendance NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, the DG NBSA Dr. Sani Abubakar Bako and his team, NUJ Asst. National Secretary, Comrade Tita Onyebuchi Nze, NUJ FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, Correspondent Chapel Chairman, Comrade Felix Ojo and his Excos and other Journalists. END
