Ahead of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, final match, between Nigeria and the host country Cote d'Ivoire, billed for Sunday February 11, 2024, a football enthusiast, a staunch supporter of the Super Eagles, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market and member representing the good people of Imo West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, has cautioned football fans of all ages, especially lovers of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, to take all necessary precautionary measures before embarking on watching the match, to avoid a repeat of the ugly incidents of loss of lives which was recorded in parts of the country during the semi finals.

Senator Izunaso particularly advised those who cannot withstand the heat and pressure of a football competition, to completely stay away from watching or listening to live transmissions of the match, for their own good, the good of their families and loved ones.

While wishing the Super Eagles the very best in the AFCON final match, Senator Izunaso futher appealed to those involved in football betting and lottery, to brace up their minds to accept the outcome of the match in good faith.

He commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their extraordinary sterling performance in the ongoing AFCON Competition, describing their doggedness on the matches played so far as a display of the true can-do spirit synonymous with Nigerians in their chosen vocations.

Senator Izunaso thanked the Super Eagles for lifting up the spirit of Nigerians, especially at this precarious times when the unprecedented economic hardship and hydraheaded security challenges seem to have engulfed and dampened the spirit of most Nigerians.

He challenged the Super Eagles to go all out and exhibit that Nigerian-can-do spirit and lift up the trophy, so as to spike-up a much more brigher smile into the hearts and faces of teeming Nigerians.

Concluding, Senator Osita Izunaso appealed to Nigerians, to endeavour to imbibe same spirit of sportsmanship, unity and oneness; eschewing mundane ethno-religous and political sentiments, in matters of national interest. He also advised Nigerians, to be patient with the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to lift the country out of the present challenges.
