The Sector Commander FRSC Anambra State command, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi has paid a sympathy visit to the Management of Ifeanyichukwu Industries and Commercial Services Limited, operators of Ifeanyichukwu Transport Company, who's fleet of buses were recently ravaged by fire.

Recall, that about three weeks ago, precisely August 15, 2021, a petrol laden tanker fully loaded with PMS, rammed into busses stationed at the Company's luxury Bus Park premises, along Onitsha-Awka expressway, near the building material International market, Ogidi. The petrol tanker driver reportedly got burnt to death on the spot, while about 13 luxury buses owned by Ifeanyichukwu Transport Company were rased into shackles, valuables running into several billions of naira allegedly destroyed.


The Managing director of the company, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Egwim while receiving the Sector Commander explained, that the tragic incident is very traumatic, which could best be wished to have happened in a dream. 

Chief Ifeanyichukwu recounted that his company lost well over N540million to the unfortunate incident, saying that going by the current exchange rate of Naira, each of the buses costs about N40million. He however thanked God for keeping him alive despite the shock and trauma. 


Chief Ifeanyichukwu was full of praises to God, that the wild inferno did not spread into surrounding shops of the building material market complex due to the proactive and safety measures in his company,  in addition to the assistance from members of the teeming public, describing the outcome and experience to be best imagined.

The MD, thanked the FRSC Boss for coming to commiserate with him in his crucial moment of critical challenges, saying that he shall continue to partner the agency for the betterment of the public and commuters in the state, despite the unfortunate incident.

Chief Ifeanyichukwu bemoaned that no help has come from neither the insurance company nor any quarter whatsoever.

Also speaking during the visit to the company, the son of the the MD, Hon. Obiora Egwim, who is also an SA, to the Anambra governor on trasport, thanked the FRSC boss for coming to share in their grieve, explaining to him that no help has so far come their way, saying however, that, they are hopeful that Gov. Willie Obiano, who is well known for his compassionate heart will do something in due time.


Responding, the Sector Commander FRSC Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, said, he came to sympathize with Chief Ifeanyichukwu, his Company and family; urging them to be full of courage and never to lose hope, while praying God to grant them wisdom and divine assistance to be able to face the enormous challenge.

In his words " thank God it is the vehicles that got burnt and not the owner," he further stated that "In our local parlance, it is said that when the palace of a King is gutted by fire, the incident will only add beauty to it, because its renovation will enormously attract all and sundry." Mr Irelewuyi urged Chief Ifeanyichukwu not to relent in prayers since it is only God that can come to his rescue at an auspicious time as this.
