IKEDURU SOLAD CONDEMNS ATTACK ON AND CIVILIAN

The Sole Administrator of Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon Justice Nze, has condemned in its entirety, the gruesome murder of two police officers and a civilian, by yet to be identified gunmen at the early hours of Tuesday, June 11, 2024. 

Hon. Justice described the incident as mindless, barbaric and inhuman, saying that the perpetrators of the dastardly act have no reason to take lives.

Reports have it that the Policemen who lost their lives, were at their duty post, around Ama-John axis of Akabo in Ikeduru LGA, when the gunmen stormed and attacked their victims. 

Few moments after the incident, Hon. Justice visited the scene of the incident in company of security operatives. 

Speaking to newsmen, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of the area, Mr Godwin Udom, condemned the act and informed the SolAd that the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has visited the scene of the attack and has been properly briefed. 

In his reaction, the Ikeduru SolAd, Hon Justice Nze, who expressed shock at the incident,  appealed to the DPO to properly liaise with other security agencies, to set adequate machineries to bring perpetrators of the dastardly act to book and avert possible reoccurrence of such ugly incident within the Local Government, so as to support the unrelenting efforts of the Renewed Hope administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma his Security architecture and laudable plans to bring lasting peace and tranquility to the State, so that Imolites can sleep with their two eyes closed, the SolAd said.

He appealed to groups and members of the public who are agreived in one way or the other to embrace peaceful dialogue in presenting their greiviances, instead of resolving to violence or self help, which he opined has never solved any problem.

As at the time of this report, bodies of victims of the incident have been evaquated and deposited at a morgue in Owerri. 

The SolAd prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims. END
