AIG VICTOR OLAIYA LEADS MEDICAL OUTREACH TO MARK SERVICOM CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK 2025

In a powerful show of commitment to public welfare and community partnership and in alignment with the agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to promote citizen-focused policing, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+), has launched a comprehensive Police Medical Outreach as part of activities marking the 2025 Police Customer Service Week.
The outreach, held at the Zone 7 Headquarters, opened its doors to police personnel, their families, visitors, and residents of surrounding communities, offering free medical consultations, blood pressure and sugar checks, vital sign assessments, health education, and other essential services.
AIG Olaiya emphasized that genuine policing goes beyond law enforcement, stating that “service to humanity must reflect care, accessibility, and compassion.” He noted that customer service in policing means listening, responding, and prioritizing the health and wellbeing of both officers and the public they serve.
The initiative aim to:
• Improve access to basic health screenings
• Promote early detection of health risks
• Support officer wellness and readiness
• Strengthen police–community trust through direct engagement
Medical professionals, volunteers, and partner organizations were on ground to deliver services to hundreds of beneficiaries. Participants described the exercise as timely, impactful, and reflective of a people-centered policing approach.
AIG Olaiya commended the collaborative efforts of the medical team and partner agencies, reiterating that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to customer-focused service delivery rooted in empathy, respect, and public confidence.
The AIG encouraged members of the public to continue partnering with the Police by reporting crimes promptly and providing credible information when necessary, warning that criminals and their collaborators will find no safe haven within its supervising states; FCT and Niger state police commands. He reaffirmed that the Nigeria Police Force remains unwavering in its duty to protect lives, uphold justice and serve with integrity.
