RAILWAY MD, OPEIFA BEGS NUJ OVER ASSULT ON JOURNALIST 

The Managing Director, Nigeria Railway Corporation, Mr Kayode Opeifa has pleaded with the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ as a body and and Journalists in Nigeria for forgiveness over his unruly behaviour, unwarranted display of arrogance and assault on the immediate past President of NAWOJ, Comrade Ladi Bala on an incident which occurred while Comrade Bala was carrying out her statutory function when one of the couches of a moving train crashed out of the rain around Kaduna axis.

He pleaded guilty, saying he accepts responsibility of the Kaduna incident and pleaded with all concerned to please forgive his actions and let the issue which has generated unprecedented media noise to rest.

Mr Opeifa made the plea, Sunday, August 31, 2025 during a Press Conference at the NUJ-FCT Council Press Centre, Utako, Abuja. It is expected that the plea will go a long way to dowsing the media tension generated by the noise...END
